I conduct individual, couples/relationship and family therapy services for adolescents (12+) and adults. Brainspotting & EMDR-trained, I approach therapy with a humanistic mindset focused on developing insight to overcome the barriers that are preventing you from fully living life. I will adapt to your needs balancing empathic listening, validation, challenges, and psychoeducation, always holding your best intentions at heart to set you up for long-term success.
Originally hailing from the east coast, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland (go Terps!) with a B. A. in Psychology and a minor in Human Development. I was also part of the Advocates for Children Scholars Program, a program designed to involve students in advocacy efforts including social, educational, policy, and social justice issues affecting children of diverse backgrounds, their families and communities.
I attained my M.S. in Counseling from California State University, Northridge where I focused on Professional Clinical Counseling and School Counseling. In addition to formal education, I have worked intensively with adolescents and adults as an individual, group, and family therapist at a community agency dedicated to treating childhood trauma and preventing child abuse, K-12 institutions, and residential treatment settings.

Sometimes people want to enter into therapy but may not be able to afford the full fee. I am willing to discuss financial constraints, and in certain situations adjust the fee, with the understanding that if your financial situation changes we will revisit the topic.
Most clients will attend one psychotherapy visit per week, but the frequency of psychotherapy visits that are appropriate in your case may be more or less than once per week, depending upon your needs. Similarly, a typical session is slated for 50 minutes, but this being the counseling “standard” is arbitrary and I am willing to be flexible to accommodate a duration that best suits you.
This can consist of the whole family system or just include specific members. We don’t have to be locked into any one setup and can adjust session-to-session prioritizing what feels most supportive.
I am not on any Insurance panels but can provide you with a "Superbill" that can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, your total cost of services will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you. The number of visits that are appropriate in your case, and the estimated cost for those services, depends on your needs and what you agree to in consultation with your therapist. You are entitled to disagree with any recommendations made to you concerning your treatment and you may discontinue treatment at any time.

Our state has some of the finest healthcare providers in the United States. However, if you believe that the actions of a provider were inappropriate or may have caused mental or physical harm to you or someone else, you should consider filing a complaint.
Our mission is to protect the people of Washington. Although we have the responsibility to take corrective action against a healthcare provider, it is outside our authority to impose criminal or civil penalties. Our disciplinary actions focus on preventing further problems with a provider and assuring safe, competent care for the patients. By reporting potential violations you can play an important role in protecting the people of Washington.
The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council investigates and prosecutes professional misconduct committed by marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, psychologists, psychological associates, social workers, and licensed specialists in school psychology.
